The Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Cable’s 2010 Competition Status Report provides an informational snapshot of the communications industry throughout the Commonwealth. The report finds, among other things, that the competitive degree of retail communications services has developed unevenly across Massachusetts. The report identifies regions that have multiple providers offering voice and video services, and also identifies those areas where consumers may lack competitive alternatives or even lack a single provider for certain services.
